Down Day

I hope everyone had a fabulous Thanksgiving yesterday.  I cooked for my family and we had a very nice day. Of course, there was a lot of delicious food.  Way too much! It’s a good thing I planned to sit on my sofa today and do whatever I want without watching the clock or filling orders or planning my schedule for the upcoming work week.  It’s just a nice relaxing “down day”.  It’s usually a great excuse for doing something creative that does not involve any sewing or craft for someone else.  It’s all me.

A down day is the most creative kind of day. It’s not easy to take time for yourself with all the texts, phone calls, emails and knocks on the front door but SHUT IT ALL OFF!  Even if it’s just for a little while. It’s amazing what a few hours of doodling will do for the mind.  Or whatever it is that makes your creativity flow. It’s the time you can try new things and practice things you’ve already learned. Nobody ever has to see. Or maybe it will be so good you want to show everyone.  Either way, it’s a great way to refresh and reset!!  What’s your version of “Down Day”? I’d love to hear about it!!
