About Me

Hi!

My name is Christine.

In the online world I’ve gone by Darlyssa.  A combination of my two lovely daughter’s names.  Darian and Alyssa.  I used it back in the day when being online was still new and little bit scary.  Now it’s just a reminder of the reason I do what I do.  Arts and crafts.  Because 1. It’s what I love and 2. It helps financially so that I have more freedom to be with and do things for my family.  In so many ways.

My REAL job…

if you can call it that because I love it as well, is doing nails.  I rent a cozy little room in Making Waves Styling Studio in Hollywood, Florida.  I am Tans2Toes.  I love the girls I work with and the clients I see every day.  Most have become very good friends and some even like family.  It’s not really like work although, it’s just hard enough to be challenging.   Some think it’s easy to take time off because I make my own schedule.  It’s completely the opposite.  So, while I enjoy this time in my life, I do look forward to the time when I can be totally free to travel.

Which brings me to…..

The reason I started this blog. I would like to be a full time artist/crafter.   I’ve always been creative.  I have a bajillion ideas rolling around in my head of things to create.  I love learning new things.  I’m absolutely addicted to the feeling you get when you’re stuck on something and then figure it out. Personal accomplishments are an amazing feeling.  The crazy thing, the secret, the new thing I’ve recently learned is, it really is so easy.  You just have to have interest in something and be willing to keep trying until something clicks.  If only I knew this before I turned 47.  Ok, so I’m a bit of a late bloomer but there’s still time.  So, here begins the experiment.  The blog that follows it all. Love me or hate me, either way, this is my story…..

FYI:

I am just learning to navigate. I will be updating and tweaking this site regularly.   I will be posting affiliate links in my posts and here as well.

To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.
